Lea is a Clinical Psychologist who provides individual, couple and family therapy. She has successfully helped many people to find more satisfaction in their relationships and work, make important decisions and lead productive lives. She draws upon extensive experience with people from varied walks of life, backgrounds and circumstances to help her clients create unique solutions for themselves.

For more than 25 years, Lea has worked in child, adolescent and adult mental health services, private practice and Relationships Australia. This has provided her with a deep understanding of people and an enthusiasm and vitality to help individuals find a way forward in times of challenge.

Lea is experienced in providing therapy for anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma and relationship issues. She is particularly interested in helping people manage life transitions. This includes changes at work, separation or retirement. For example, in the year after the birth of the first child, issues relating to the couple relationship, personal challenges, post-natal depression and parenting can emerge. Her particular areas of expertise include couple therapy, step-parenting and working with children and adolescents.

Lea currently teaches in the Masters of Psychotherapy program conducted by the School of Medicine at the University of Sydney and runs workshops on couple and family therapy.

Lea has completed training in the management of anxiety and depression in adults and children (Cool Kids), CBT, brief psychotherapy, Gottman Couple Therapy (Level 3), family therapy and mindfulness. An important part of her work is to keep abreast of developments in the field, so she regularly attends workshops on topics like neuroscience and positive psychology, as well as consulting with the Gottman Institute in Seattle. Lea completed a PhD on parenting when she worked closely with Professor Matthew Sanders who developed the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P).
